About Ramadan
During Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, Muslims fast from dawn (suhoor) to sunset (iftar) for 29 or 30 days. The month ends with Eid al-Fitr.
Because the lunar year is about 354 days long, Ramadan starts roughly 11 days earlier each year — in 2030 it begins twice, in January and again in late December. These are the expected Gulf / astronomical dates. India and other South Asian countries often begin a day later.
