Indian Festival and Holiday Dates 2027 (and the Rest of 2026)
India's central government publishes its holiday list each year. Here is the 2027 list as reproduced in an office order dated 13 August 2026, alongside the festivals still to come in 2026. Islamic festival dates depend on the sighting of the moon and can move by a day. State governments add their own holidays, so check your state's list too. Each festival links to a live countdown with dates through 2030.

Long weekends in 2027
- Holi and Good Friday: take Monday 22 March (Holika Dahan) and you get Saturday 20 – Tuesday 23 March off. Good Friday on 26 March then gives another three-day weekend.
- Bakrid: Monday 17 May makes a three-day weekend.
- Mahavir Jayanti: Monday 19 April makes a three-day weekend.
- Dussehra to Diwali: the restricted Dussehra days (6–8 October) lead into Saturday 9 October. Diwali on Friday 29 October, followed by Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj over the weekend, gives a three-day Diwali break.
Plan leave around these with the countdown to date tool or the time duration calculator.
