About the Etsy Fee Calculator

An Etsy sale carries several fees. The listing fee is $0.20 USD, paid when you list and again every four months or each time an item sells. The transaction fee is 6.5% of the item price plus shipping and gift wrapping. Payment processing depends on where your bank account is: 3% + $0.25 in the US, 4% + £0.20 in the UK, 4% + €0.30 in the euro area, 5% + ₹25 in India and 4.5% + ₱25 in the Philippines. It's charged on the full total including tax. Canadian and Australian shops pay 4% on international orders.

Some fees only apply sometimes. Offsite Ads take 15% of an order that came from Etsy's ads on Google, Instagram and similar sites, or 12% once a shop passes $10,000 in yearly sales. The fee is capped at $100 per order, and shops under the threshold can opt out. A regulatory operating fee applies in some countries: 0.48% in the UK, 1.14% in France, 0.80% in Italy and 0.88% in Spain since 22 June 2026. Listing in a currency other than your bank's costs another 2.5%, and where VAT applies Etsy adds it to its fees.

Enter your price, the shipping you charge and your real costs, and the calculator shows every fee line, your profit and margin, plus a table of profit at other prices. The target-profit field works backwards to the item price you need. Remember that shipping you charge counts toward the transaction fee, so free shipping built into the price costs the same in fees as charging it separately.

Examples

US: $25 item + $5 shipping → $3.30 in fees (6.5% $1.95, processing $1.15, listing $0.20); profit $16.20 after $10.50 of costs
Same sale through Offsite Ads (15%) → another $4.50
UK: £25 + £5 → transaction £1.95, processing £1.40, regulatory £0.14

Frequently asked questions

6 answers
How much does Etsy take from a $25 sale?
For a US seller with $5 shipping, $3.30: the 6.5% transaction fee on $30 ($1.95), 3% + $0.25 processing ($1.15) and the $0.20 listing fee. That's 11% of the $30 total, before any Offsite Ads fee.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee and the payment processing fee both apply to the shipping you charge, as well as to the item price.
Can I avoid the Offsite Ads fee?
Shops with under $10,000 in sales over the past 365 days can opt out in their settings. Above that it's compulsory, at 12%, capped at $100 per order.
What is Etsy's regulatory operating fee?
A percentage of item price plus shipping that Etsy charges in some countries to cover the cost of local regulations. Since 22 June 2026 it's 0.48% in the UK, 1.14% in France, 0.80% in Italy and 0.88% in Spain. US shops don't pay it.
Is the listing fee charged again when an item sells?
Yes. For listings with more than one in stock, Etsy charges another $0.20 to renew the listing after each sale. Listings also renew every four months.
Is anything I type sent to PayPal, Stripe or anyone else?
No. The fee schedules are built into the page and every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you enter leaves your device.
