SVG to ICO Converter

Render an SVG logo into a crisp multi-size .ico — every size is drawn from the vector, so 16 px is as sharp as 256 px — for favicons and Windows app icons.

About the SVG to ICO Converter

SVG is the ideal source for icons because it can be rendered at any size without blur. Rendering each ICO size directly from the vector avoids the mushy look you get from scaling one large bitmap down.

The SVG is rendered by your browser at the scale you choose (SVGs without a width and height are drawn at 1024 px), so the result is as sharp as the vector allows.

The ICO is assembled by our own encoder: each size is rendered from your image with high-quality stepped downscaling, then stored either as a PNG entry (compact; Windows Vista and later) or as a classic 32-bit BMP entry with an AND transparency mask (works on every Windows version), behind a standard ICONDIR directory.

Frequently asked questions

4 answers
Do I still need favicon.ico if I have an SVG favicon?
It's still worth having: some browsers, RSS readers, Windows shortcuts and tools only look for /favicon.ico.
Is the ICO transparent?
Yes, transparent areas in the SVG stay transparent in every size.
How do I use the ICO as a favicon?
Upload it to your site's root as /favicon.ico, or link it with .
Is my image uploaded?
No. SVG files are decoded and the ICO is created entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server, and EXIF/GPS metadata isn't copied.
