About the RPM Calculator

RPM (revenue per mille) is what a publisher or creator earns per 1,000 views: RPM = revenue ÷ views × 1,000. Earning $180 from 60,000 pageviews is a $3 RPM. Unlike CPM, which advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions, RPM is measured per view after the platform's share. It also counts views that showed no ads, which is why it's the honest number for planning income.

For a website, page RPM comes from four things: the ad CPM advertisers bid, how many ad impressions each page shows, the fill rate (the share of ad slots that actually get an ad) and your revenue share. Google AdSense, for example, pays publishers 80% of revenue after the advertiser-side fee, which comes to about 68% overall. Open Estimate RPM from ad CPM to multiply them out: a $3.50 CPM × 2.5 ads per page × 85% fill × 68% share gives a page RPM of about $5.06.

Below the result, two tables turn RPM into planning numbers: the monthly and daily views needed for income goals from 100 to 5,000, and the revenue at view counts from 10,000 to 10 million. For YouTube, use the RPM shown in YouTube Studio. The YouTube money calculator has measured RPMs by niche if you don't have your own yet.

Examples

$180 from 60,000 views → $3.00 RPM
$3 RPM → about 333,000 views a month for $1,000
$3.50 CPM × 2.5 ads × 85% fill × 68% share → $5.06 page RPM

Frequently asked questions

5 answers
How is RPM calculated?
Revenue divided by views (or pageviews), multiplied by 1,000. $45 from 15,000 pageviews is a $3 RPM.
Why is my RPM lower than my CPM?
CPM is per 1,000 ad impressions and is what advertisers pay. RPM is per 1,000 views after the platform's share, and it includes views where no ad showed. On YouTube creators keep 55% of long-form ad revenue, and not every view is monetised.
What is a good RPM?
It varies hugely by niche and audience country. On YouTube, measured 2026 medians run from about $0.33 (kids) to over $10 (education and science), with an all-niche median near $2.30. Your own analytics is the reliable source.
How many views do I need to make $1,000 a month?
Divide 1,000 by your RPM and multiply by 1,000. At a $3 RPM that's about 333,000 views a month, or 11,100 a day.
Is anything I type sent to PayPal, Stripe or anyone else?
No. The fee schedules are built into the page and every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you enter leaves your device.
