About the CPM Calculator
CPM (cost per mille) is what an advertiser pays for 1,000 ad impressions. The formula is simple: CPM = total cost ÷ impressions × 1,000. A $500 campaign that delivers 125,000 impressions has a $4 CPM. Rearranged, cost = impressions × CPM ÷ 1,000, and impressions = cost ÷ CPM × 1,000. Choose which one to calculate and the other two fields drive it.
CPM tells you how expensive attention is, not whether it worked. Add a click-through rate to see the clicks and the effective CPC (cost ÷ clicks). Add a conversion rate to see conversions and the CPA. A $4 CPM at 0.9% CTR works out to about $0.44 per click. Comparing that with a cost-per-click campaign shows which buying model is cheaper for the same result.
The tables show what different budgets buy at your CPM, and how far your budget goes at other CPMs. That's useful when a platform quotes a CPM range, or when you're planning reach for a launch. CPMs vary widely by platform, audience, country, ad format and season, so use the figures from your own ad account where you can.
