How it works
Your melee max hit in OSRS comes from your effective Strength and your weapon's Strength bonus. First the game works out effective Strength: take your Strength level (plus any potion boost), multiply by your prayer bonus and round down, then add a style bonus (+3 aggressive, +1 controlled) and +8. Then the max hit is ⌊0.5 + effectiveStrength × (equipmentStrengthBonus + 64) ÷ 640⌋.
This calculator applies that formula so you can compare weapons, prayers and potions before you commit to gear. Enter your Strength level, the Strength bonus from your equipment (shown in your equipment stats screen), your potion and prayer, and your attack style. It's for standard melee — special attacks, the Dharok effect and slayer/void bonuses change things and aren't included.
Everything runs in your browser.
