How it works

Page numbers make a document easy to reference, cite, and reassemble if it's ever printed and shuffled. Adding them by hand is tedious; this tool stamps consistent numbers onto every page in seconds.

Load your PDF, choose where the number sits (any of the six corners or centres, top or bottom), the starting number (handy when a document is part of a larger set), and the font size. Tick "Page X of Y" for the fuller style, or leave it off for a plain number. The tool draws the text with pdf-lib's built-in Helvetica so it stays crisp at any zoom.

All of this happens in your browser, so your document is never uploaded — safe for reports, manuscripts, and legal paperwork alike.

Examples

Bottom centre, "Page X of Y" → a classic report footer.
Start at 5 → continue numbering from an earlier section.
Top right, plain number → a subtle reference marker.

Frequently asked questions

Where can the numbers go?
Any of six positions — top or bottom, left, centre, or right — chosen from the dropdown.
Can I start from a number other than 1?
Yes. Set the starting number, which is useful when the file is one part of a larger document.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No — the numbers are drawn in your browser and the file stays on your device.
Will the numbers overlap my content?
They're placed in the margin. If your pages have very small margins, reduce the font size to keep them clear.
