PNG to TIFF Converter
Make print-ready TIFFs from PNGs: lossless LZW or Deflate compression, alpha kept as a real channel, the DPI your printer or publisher wants — and an option to combine files into one multi-page TIFF.

- TIFFNone, LZW, Deflate, PackBits, JPEG, CCITT fax · 1–32 bits per sample; gray, RGB, palette, CMYK · alpha: Extra-sample alpha channel

About the PNG to TIFF Converter
Print shops, publishers, stock agencies and archives still ask for TIFF because it's lossless, carries DPI and colour channels unambiguously, and every professional tool opens it. PNG is lossless too, but TIFF is the expected hand-off format in print and scanning workflows.
The PNG is decoded by your browser, alpha included.
The TIFF is written by our own TIFF 6.0 encoder in little-endian (II) byte order: 8 bits per sample, RGB or RGBA (unassociated alpha via ExtraSamples), strips of about 64 KB, and your choice of LZW or Deflate — both with the horizontal-differencing predictor, which typically shrinks photos substantially — PackBits or no compression. Resolution is stored as XResolution/YResolution in pixels per inch, and several images can be written as pages of one file.

Things to know
- DPI isn't resolution. Setting 300 DPI doesn't add detail. A 1200 × 1800 px image at 300 DPI prints at 4 × 6 inches; to print larger without softness you need more pixels.
- Transparency support varies. TIFF stores alpha as an extra channel (unassociated alpha). Photoshop, GIMP, Affinity and macOS Preview read it; some print RIPs flatten it. Choose Flatten if in doubt.
