How it works

Your grade point average (GPA) is a credit-weighted average of your grades, so a five-credit course counts more than a one-credit one. This calculator does that weighting for you: add a row for each course, choose its letter grade, and enter the credit hours it's worth.

Grades map to the standard 4.0 scale — A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, and so on down to F = 0.0. The tool multiplies each grade's points by its credits, sums those quality points, and divides by your total credits. GPA and total credits update instantly as you type, and you can add or remove courses freely.

Use it to check your standing this semester, project the effect of a course still in progress, or estimate what grades you need to reach a target. Everything runs in your browser, so your academic record stays private.

Frequently asked questions

How is weighted GPA calculated?
Each course's grade points are multiplied by its credit hours to get quality points. Those are summed and divided by total credits, so higher-credit courses count more.
What grade scale does it use?
The common unweighted 4.0 scale, where A is 4.0 down to F at 0.0, including plus and minus grades like A− (3.7) and B+ (3.3).
My school uses different point values. Can I still use it?
The scale here is the widely used default. If your institution assigns different points, your official GPA may differ slightly, so check your school's exact scale.
How do I remove a course?
